A Living Bay: The Underwater World of Monterey Bay
Published in Paperback by University of California Press (02 October, 2000)
Authors: Lovell Langstroth, Libby Langstroth, Todd Newberry, and Monterey Bay Aquarium
Average review score:

An Incredible Accomplishment!
I'm an avid Monterey Area scuba diver who was on the verge of thinking I knew something about Monterey marine life. That was before I read this book. Despite my many hundreds of dives and many hours of time spent studying the things I'd seen this book opened my eyes to all sorts of things I'd never noticed before. Anybody interested in west coast marine life simply must have this book.

One of it's best features is the novel organization. It's broken up into habitat areas rather than by Phylum/Genus/Species etc. This really helps the reader understand the relationships between the various organisms. Also the photographs are truly exceptional.

Overall a real gem.

Extraordinary! The beach will never look the same to you.
An exceptional book. Those tar spots on the beach, those yucky lumps of rotting kelp, those minor shellfish will all become fascinating interacting worlds for you. Beautiful photos that excite and succinct explanations that educate in a package that could well be an excellent coffee table book. We should all hope that this is what all nature books would become. I recommend this book to anyone interested in ocean life (not just Monterey Bay).

I am giving this book out as gifts to friends and relatives.

Wonderful combination of marine bio and great photos
This book provides many many photographs of marine organisms found in Monterey Bay (California coast). The photographs are clear, well-reproduced, and organisms are identified by common and Latin name. This alone would be a good reason to buy the book. However, the authors went beyond excellent photography into detailed marine biology. For every organism, they provide fascinating details from the biology of the organism, often supplemented with additional photographs illustrating the phenomenon being described. I have taught chemistry, biology, and marine biology at the high school level, as well as being a SCUBA diver; I found this book to be full of new and fascinating information, well presented and carefully documented, with scientific sources cited (but not obnoxiously). I loaned this book to two high school students, one fascinated with marine biology, one not so fascinated, and they were both enthralled: "that book is so cool!" "did you know anemones fight?" One of the best books on the ocean environment I've ever seen; clearly a labor of love on the part of the authors.

Low-Fat Top Secret Recipes: Creating Kitchen Clones of America's Favorite Brand-Name Foods
Published in Paperback by Plume (05 June, 2000)
Author: Todd Wilbur
Average review score:

glad there is a low fat version
the top secret recipe concept is great. I like that I can *clone* my favorite recipes at home...for much less cost. The traditional top secret recipes are not usually low fat. The prime consideration is taste. While this is a good thing, it makes it hard to incorporate them into a diet program.

With this version it is possible. In general I find the top secret recipes a bit heavy on ingredients... which can be a bit of a pain during prep and also the cost of expanding your panty. But to be able to make some favorites at home, at a fraction of the cost and now...low fat. Its a great alternative!

This is One of the Best Recipe Books Available Anywhere
As editor of Low-Fat-Recipes.com, I can affirm this is the best cook book you can imagine for the junk food addict. Not only will you reduce the calories but it will fatten your pocketbook as you duplicate for pennies what costs dollars in these fast food restaurants. Read and enjoy and watch the pounds drop away while enjoying the foods you have been addicted to consuming.

control what goes into your food - and it still tastes great
the best thing about this book (aside from the fact that the recipes taste just like the real thing) is that YOU control what goes into the food, not someone in a (perhaps) dirty restaraunt kitchen, or in a factory where they infuse food with chemicals and preservatives. all of your favorite recipes are in here - low fat AND yummy. i recommend it to anyone who dines out a lot but wants to cut back on their food bills (or their waistlines!)

Managing Public Relations
Published in Hardcover by International Thomson Publishing (1984)
Authors: James E. Grunig and Todd T. Hunt
Average review score:

Essential book
MANAGING PUBLIC RELATIONS by James E. Grunig and Todd T. Hunt is a must-have for PR students and professionals. Almost all PR books use it as a reference and discuss its contents, mainly the four PR-models defined by Grunig. This is a book that will never get old.

Sts. James and Todd
Those of us in this business can't live or work without this watershed book. It's a timeless classic that I turn to constantly as a PR practitioner.

There's nothing these guys haven't thought about or anticipated. They make your life easier because they actually tell you things you don't want to read or hear.

If you absorb this book, you're some way along in handling any PR situation that comes your way.

Great Little Textbook for PR Students
O.K. the book may not be that little, but is an excellent resource for beginning PR students and professionals. It covers all the basicis from a definition of PR to how to do PR well to how to perform the nuts & bolts tasks of PR. It is also very readable. It may not be a cuddle-up-in-bed book, but it does the job in a much less painful way than most textbooks! (P.S. Grunig is an excellent teacher and explains PR concepts in an approachable manner.)

Milwaukee
Published in Paperback by Prairie Oak Press (August, 2002)
Author: Todd Dacquisto
Average review score:

Finally!
When I travel and stay with a host family, I look for a gift to bring them that reflects my home city. I've always really wanted it to be a book of photographs, but could never find one that does Milwaukee justice (except for a few that were too expensive and heavy to bother with). This book is perfect - I'm sure I'll find myself buying copy after copy for my travels. Thanks, Todd.

Everyone's Milwaukee
I received this book as a gift and I think it is easily one of the best pictorial tours of Milwaukee, Wisconsin that I have ever seen. The talent of this photographer is extraordinary. The book walks you through the seasons as if you were really there. I have been to Milwaukee many times and never knew about some of the beautiful scenes that are captured in this book. Not only do you see the sites of Milwaukee; you are introduced to the great mix of people that live there. I recommend this book both for it's content and a study in great photography. I would love to know what the photographer had to do to get some of these great shots.

For anyone looking to celebrate their fond memories
Milwaukee by Wisconsin photographer Todd Dacquisto is a gorgeous, full-color montage visual celebration of urban life and joy in Wisconsin's largest metropolis. Very few captions and almost no text interrupt these pristine, clear, and memorably beautiful images. Milwaukee is a highly recommended as a souvenir book for anyone looking to celebrate their fond memories of this great Wisconsin city.

Motivating and Inspiring Teachers: The Educational Leader's Guide for Building Staff Morale
Published in Paperback by Eye on Education (March, 2000)
Authors: Todd Whitaker, Beth Whitaker, and Dale Lumpa
Average review score:

FULL OF IDEAS & VERY USABLE
This book is full of ideas that I have either currently implemented into my administrative plan or will implement next year. Many of these ideas were simple, easy-to-use, common sense ideas that I wish I would have found earlier in my administrative career. The bottom line is that if you don't have motivated teachers, you most likely don't have a "good" school - this book will help you motivate your teachers and create a positive environment.

Practial Ideas You Can Use
For principals, teachers, team leaders, and all other educators, this book will help revitalize and re-energize your school. It is filled with strategies to motivate and stimulate all those involved in education. Included in this book are simple suggestions which you can integrate into your current daily routines. This book will show you how to:

- insert key phrases and specific actions into your day-to-day conversations, staff meetings, and written memos to stimulate peak effectiveness.

- hire new staff and plan orientation & induction meetings to cultivate and retain loyal and motivated staff members.

- use the "gift of time" to stimulate and reward.

- get amazing results by not taking credit for them

- motivate yourself each and every day.

Author Todd Whitaker, a former middle and high school principal, is currently Associate Professor of Educational Leadership at Indiana State University. He is the author of Dealing with Difficult Teachers and co-author of Dealing with Difficult Parents (and with Parents in Difficult Situations). He has keynoted state, national, and international conferences and is a highly sought presenter for teachers and principals. Dr. Beth Whitaker, currently an Assistant Professor at Indiana State University was the principal at an elementary school which received the National Blue Ribbon Award for School Excellence. With her husband, Todd, she is co-editor of Contemporary Education. Dr. Dale Lumpa, currently an elementary school principal, serves as on the board of directors of the Colorado Principal's Center and is an adjunct professor for the University of Phoenix.

How educational!!!
If I were a high school principal, I would find this book extraordinarily creative and helpful. I have spoken to old high school principals and teachers about this book because it gives practical ideas to motivate teachers and students alike. It makes me hope that all principals will read this book for the shear fact that I want to see teachers more motivated and excited about their jobs. I will someday be a parent and would like to know my children are learning from the best.

Near Death
Published in Paperback by Pocket Books (October, 1994)
Authors: Nancy Kilpatrick and Rebecca Todd
Average review score:

Most interesting and fast paced tale
This was one of the most interesting and fast paced vampire tales I've read lately. Granted, the heroine can be a little anoying, but not always... very imaginative story. Keeps your interest.

The book was fast-paced, and much like Anne Rice
I enjoyed this book from the beginning! I read the whole thing in about a day and 1/2. I just couldn't put it down. Kilpatrick has a way with words, and I intend on looking into more Kilpatrick!

Fast paced novel with a new take on the vampire! Good read!
This novel will grab you from the opening scene and never let you go. The plot moves swiftly along surprising twists as the street kid and the Byron-loving undead hero chase across two countries. A great read

The Pain Tree
Published in Paperback by Houghton Mifflin Co (27 March, 2000)
Authors: Esther Pearl Watson and Mark Todd
Average review score:

All your pain are belong to us!
To put a long story short, this is a great book. At age 23, I'm out of my teens and just beginning my journey into the dullness popularly referred to as "adulthood".

I must admit to never being an aficionado of poetry, but this book I enjoyed greatly. Every time I read them, poems like "Exasperation" and "Following directions" take me right back to being 15, with all the rage, joy and pubescent angst that comes with it.

Layout-wise I have no complaints. The colors were well chosen, and the illustrations were great :-)

painfully delicious
I really loved the whole idea of the book; there is nothing like being a teenager, no matter what decade the feelings are the same. It is indeed painful..but delicious.

Go To Your Room, This Instant!
I grew out of my teen angst as I grew out of my Cure T-shirt. Where I used to get lost in poetry, now I'm lost in biros and bankstatements. Still-and I don't understand it-'The Pain Tree' is simply my favorite book. Handy-sized, softback, unassuming-and chock full of illustrated treasures!

Reading it takes me right back-in palate, in texture, in sureness of purpose-to my old bedroom, where a young me, loose-limbed and eager, hunches over an inky poem. And probably every one of the twisted illustrations (from the robot in underpants to Ms Watson's vicious spiky boots) is tacked to the bedroom wall.

Yeah, that's what it's like.

Well, I bought three copies. And I don't even know any teenagers. Not a one. But if I get to, I'll give them a copy. I will.

Great gothic tale of horror and suspense.
I found this book to be totally enthralling and it scared the hell out of me. Set in the mysterious old south city of Savannah, it will make the hairs stand up on the back of your neck. You definately should read with ALL the lights on.

Scary and Great
I would give this book to anyone who likes to read scary or ghost story books and show them a new meaning to possession.

The entire book is creepy but some parts are totally scary and scared the hell outa me.

For people who love thrillers/ghosts/deamon books, get this one.
I GIVE THIS BOOK 5/5

SCARY AND GREAT
THIS IS BOOK I RECOMMEND FOR ANYONE WHO LOVES TO READ A GOOD SCARY STORY.

IMAGINE I HAD TO CLOSE MY WINDOW WHILE READING CAUSE SOME PARTS WERE SCARING THE HELL OUT OF ME.

THIS BOOK I GIVE A FULL 5 STARS

BUY THIS BOOK GIVES A WHOLE NEW MEANING TO POSSESSION.

Put the Moose on the Table: Lessons in Leadership from a Ceo's Journey Through Business and Life
Published in Hardcover by Indiana University Press (April, 2003)
Authors: Randall Tobias and Todd Tobias
Average review score:

Powerful and Practical!
Put The Moose On The Table, by Randall Tobias, is Who Moved My Cheese and more! It occurred to me, while I was reading Tobias' book,
that finally here's the advice I need when my cheese is moved! Why not learn from the best?
Fortunately for the reader, Tobias shares invaluable lessons in leadership by putting his own life on the table.

Great read for aspiring leaders
As the mother of 2 young adults who hope to be successful
and make a significant contribution to corporate America,
I appreciated this book and bought copies for both of them. Randy Tobias doesn't pretend to have all the answers, but he does translate his 30+ years of corporate experience into easily understood leadership lessons. A "must read" for any aspiring leader.

READ THIS BOOK!!
An extraordinary book about an extraordinary life. Put the Moose on the Table is chockful of useful wisdom from a man who has lots of it. Not your typical "CEO writes a book", Put the Moose on the Table will appeal to everyone who reads it. Remarkable...

A Safe Haven? A Homeownership Guide to Assessing Environmental Hazards
Published in Hardcover by Karlyle Environmental, Inc. (01 December, 2000)
Authors: Todd A. Schultze and Todd A. Schultze
Average review score:

Blends personal experience with research and case histories
This unique book blends personal experience with research and case histories to address common concerns about home safety and environmental safety. From radon and asbestos to risk assessments, hazardous waste and poor water, and health risks of community problems, A Safe Haven? provides a general homeowner's guide to assessing hazards.

A must have!!
This book, A Safe Haven? is a must have for anyone who is looking into buying, building or owns a home. It not only defines in a understandale manner different types concerns to be aware of (such as asbestos, radon, lead and underground tanks), but it guides the reader to questions that should be asked to the original owner of the house as well. It definitely informed me about many things that I was not aware of, and would not even think to be concerned about, yet are very critical to know. I read this book before closing on my house, and it made my husband and I forewarned about certain potential situations rather than forearmed with lots of unexpected work and bills!

A Must-Have Book for Homeowners!
This book not only brought to my attention the many hidden and common hazards associated with owning a home, but it was written in a clear and concise way for the layperson to understand. With the environmental dangers increasing in our world today, the topic is one we can no longer ignore or depend on others to take responsibility for. The health and safety of our families is always one of our greatest concerns and "A Safe Haven" thankfully points out ways in which we can eliminate or at least reduce the possibility of harm to those we live with and love. By educating yourself for a minimal cost, you can avoid much larger expenses in the long-term. Also a necessity for anyone associated with the house building process.
